a little post about Instagram

While I may have been absent on my blog and Facebook over the past year, I have been posting like crazy over on a little app called Instagram.  If you want to see what I have been up to over the past year, follow me and take a look.  Here’s a little snippet:

(I had hoped to say more but I have a sick little baby boy on my hands, who is ready to get out of his crib, so I’ll keep this short and sweet.  And really if I have any hope of posting here on any kind of a regular basis, short and sweet is just going to have to cut it sometimes, right)?

So….I had a baby.

Let’s all pretend that we didn’t see that last blog post where I made all sorts of promises to start posting more frequently.  You know, that promise I made last March.  Yeah, let’s pretend that didn’t happen.  Instead, I thought it’d be better to focus on what has been keeping me busy.  Meet Charlie.  This little guy was welcomed into our family back in August.  I could gush for hours on end about how adorable and perfect and hilarious he is, but instead I’ll just show you.  If you have any sense about you at all, you will surely agree!

Since I haven’t shared any photos of him on here yet, I’ll start at the beginning….

There I am, 9 months pregnant and SO ready to meet our little guy.Pretty perfect, right? And his dad kind of liked him.It was pretty remarkable to see Farris’s instant connection with him.  Bringing home a new baby, you worry about how your other child will cope, but she loved that little guy and embraced him into our family from the very first second she laid eyes on him.  She really blew me away.
Make fun of me all you want but the crown had to happen.  And then he grew up a little and I got a little taste of what that smile could do to my heart…And then of course there was that one time when we tried to get an Easter portrait.  That went well.See?  He’s hilarious.Pretty proud of my little family.  The end.

Emerson and Pearce

Okay, so I have A LOT of catching up to do with my blog…I literally have probably a zillion sessions to post.  In case you didn’t see it on my facebook fanpage, we are expecting baby # 2 in August!  I blame my absence on all of that really fun first trimester stuff that us expectant mother’s get to go through…you know, chained to your couch with a box of saltines and 2 liter of ginger-ale…maybe a pint of ice cream on a good day.  Good times.  Anyway, I am back in the saddle and ready to blow the dust off this little blog of mine and get it up and running again!  I know…promises, promises.  I’m not going to lie, I feel a bit overwhelmed with the sheer number of sessions that I need to post, but I am going to give it the good old college try!
Let’s start off with these sweet sisters, Pearce and Emerson.  I have since done Pearce’s 6 month’s photo’s (I told you I was behind!), wait until you see how much she has grown…seriously adorable!!

Into the woods…

How lucky am I to have this precious little muse at my disposal anytime that I’m feeling expired!?  Gotta love gorgeous next door neighbors…

Allen

Okay, I think I need to start by apologizing for getting so far behind on my blog.  Totally and completely unacceptable that I haven’t done a blog post since May!  My daughter is in preschool now for three hours, two days a week, so I am going to try extra hard to start pumping out more posts.

Oh and as an update to my last blog post in May, I won!  Yippee!  I was super excited.  All of you photographer’s out there (amateur or professional) should really go enter I Heart Faces‘ weekly photo challenges, I had a lot of fun with it.

On to Allen.  I did Allen’s photos back in March (yes that’s really how far behind I am) shortly after he turned 1.  He is the youngest of three brothers and, since his two older brother’s both had beach photos done when they were 1, it was Allen’s turn!  His mom drove with him from Rock Hill for the session and I am so glad that I got to meet him and spend some time with him!  This kid is as sweet as they come.
